Prenatal Pilates

In the Mana studio space, we offer weekly Prenatal Pilates classes, i.e. pilates based functional movement for pregnant mamas. Classes focus on preventing and managing core injuries such as leaking, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic girdle pain, preparing for birth and building strength for pregnancy and motherhood.

Each week covers a different theme including balancing the baby room, pelvic floor & deep core, release for birth, functional movement for motherhood. The release for birth theme is relevant for your core health, not just for birth prep, so if you're scheduled for a cesarean section, it's still appropriate for you!

Our Prenatal Pilates teacher Sophie is passionate about supporting women and their bodies throughout the birthing years and is especially keen on helping women learn how to prepare their body for birth and then recover effectively afterwards. She teaches mother centred pilates with a particular focus on preventing, managing and rehabilitating injuries related to pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Sophie also offers pregnant mama's bodywork for birth preparation, and in-home mothercare as a postpartum doula.
